BS EN ISO 9001:2000
ISO 9001:2000 is an internationally recognised standard.
It identifies the elements of organisation required by a company, to achieve & demonstrate, the necessary skills required to quality manage their activities, products or services.
ISO registration is a measure of reliability, consistency & commitment to quality supply by a company. Registration with The British Standards Institute is a recognised sign of quality around the world.
Information Security
BS7799 is the Information Security Management Standard which is designed to protect valuable customer and company information.
The standard has been adopted by ALL British Government Departments in order for them to operate online by 2005. They strongly encourage all prospective vendors to adopt the same exacting standard which forms the backbone to their gateway program.
The BS7799 standard is written in two parts:
- ISO/IEC 17799 or BS7799 Part One, is a code of practice and stipulates which controls to secure important information a company has adopted. A desktop review is then conducted by one of a number of quality organisations to confirm that the ISMS (Information Security management System) covers all of the requirements of the standard.
- ISO/IEC 27001:2005 is the second part of the standard and can only be conducted by BSI (The British Standards Institute). It is a rigorous confirmation, in practice, that the standard is being adhered to.
There are fewer than 100 companies in the UK that have achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2005 and Zycko became one of those in October 2004.
This confirms that Zycko has the necessary controls in place to ensure that important and sensitive information is protected.
